“Old Dirty Bastards” print series stemmed from Bart’s love for Hip Hop music and disdain for the figures that had driven his home country,Burma, down to the ground for decades. He produced the first batch of Old Dirty Bastard while he was in college to share amongst his friends, disseminate in the public spaces, and occupy Burmese meme forums on social media.
The main purpose for this body of work is to show the humorous side of the Burmese culture, and how the people use humor as a tool to fight, to entertain each other, and cope during the desolate authoritarian years that spanned for decades.
